COVID-19 In Pregnancy
This is a very hot topic during 2020, there are so many questions when it comes to how COVID-19 affects pregnancy and how to treat. During this session Dr. Denney will address many of the questions that are being raised about this topic. This affects ALL perinatal care provides in North Carolina, especially now. This lecture covers the most up-to-date information on this topic that there is.
Our staff always loves this time of year and enjoy giving back to our community. This year may have been a little different than years past but we were able to continue our tradition of giving back through the Salvation Army of Winston-Salem Angel Tree. Here is a picture of our delivery to the Salvation Army.
Held in October 2020, the 7th Annual NCORP (NCI Community Oncology Research Program) Research Base event will be one that attendees will never forget. The event was ENTIRELY VIRTUAL this year as we continue to push through the COVID-19 Pandemic and presented via livestream webinar with small group discussions. We are happy to report that the attendance was the highest it has ever been this year and participants were extremely pleased with the meeting! With the event being held in a virtual format, it provided the opportunity for inclusion of more speakers from around the country to come and share their knowledge with attendees. It also allowed for increased participation by interested attendees thereby increasing exposure and knowledge about the Wake Forest NCORP research base activities.
The AHEC Digital Library is also pleased to offer free access for all ADL users to Essential Evidence Plus, an evidence-based point-of-care tool, during a three month trial period.

Training for Adoption Competency - Deadline to Apply Dec 4th, Training dates Jan 8 - June 4, 2021
Training for Adoption Competency (TAC) is a post-Master’s curriculum created by the Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.) with the assistance of a National Advisory Board of adoption experts. It is a comprehensive, evidence-based training designed exclusively for licensed mental health professionals, providing clinical knowledge and skills needed to effectively serve the adoption and kinship network.
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) issued guidance for Provider and Health Plan contract deadlines for inclusion in open enrollment and auto-enrollment as part of North Carolina’s transition to Medicaid Managed Care.
Provider contracts must be signed and mailed to health plan by:
- Feb. 1, 2021, for inclusion in open enrollment, and
- April 12, 2021, for inclusion in auto-enrollment.
