The 12th Annual Breastfeeding Forum took place on March 18, 2024, at the Hickory Metro Convention Center in Hickory, North Carolina. Guests enjoyed the chance to expand their knowledge and connect with like-minded individuals at this convenient and centralized venue.

At the start of January 2024, Northwest AHEC launched the opening day of the 2024 North Carolina Lactation Educator Training Program, a longstanding initiative dating back to 1996.

This course focuses on skills needed for providing basic breastfeeding management and support - including prenatal and postpartum counseling and management of common concerns and clinical problems.

On May 3rd, 2023 Northwest AHEC and Mountain AHEC hosted the 11^th Annual Breastfeeding Forum at the Mission Health A-B Tech Conference Center in beautiful Asheville, NC. After two years of being held virtually, the excitement of being able to gather in person for the Breastfeeding Forum was evident and could be felt throughout the event.

This course targets health care professionals who work with breastfeeding mothers, and offers necessary knowledge and skills for providing basic breastfeeding management and support. These skills focus on basic prenatal and postpartum counseling, and the management of common concerns and clinical problems.
