During the summer of 2021, Alan Morales, 17, completed Northwest AHEC Camp Med, an educational summer program geared at exposing students to the varied career opportunities in the health care field which also introduces them to basic skills such as the Heimlich maneuver, CPR and how to tie a tourniquet.

Dr. John Tinga practiced Obstetrics in eastern North Carolina for 40 years and delivered over 8,000 babies. We recently had him on our Healthcare Insights Podcast where he talks about his training, the challenges with rural medicine, his experience with AHEC, and shares his insights on the joys and challenges of medical practice.

For over 30 years, the NC Area Health Education Center RN Refresher Program has helped thousands of nurses rejuvenate their careers and go back to work. Now more than ever, our state needs nurses. The program is offering a discount for the program through April 30th. 

NWAHEC is hosting a live webinar on May 24-26 8:30am-12pm! Results-Based Accountability™ (RBA) is a disciplined way of thinking and acting to improve entrenched and complex social problems. Communities use RBA to improve the lives of children, youth, families, and adults. It is also used by organizations to improve the effectiveness of their programs and services.

The NC AHEC Nurse Council and the NC Community College System invite you to join us! This annual event hosted by the NC AHEC Nurse Council and the NC Community College System brings together academic leaders from all levels of nursing education.

The 2021-2022 NC AHEC Scholars Program at Northwest AHEC is off to a great start. The group of 41 Scholars had their orientation in September and are a great group of young minds ready to learn!
