To my surprise, there are scholars all around the nation, and they are doing incredible work to improve the health and well-being of others. The AHEC scholars conference allowed me to connect and hear about these heroic endeavors, participate in community service projects, and learn about the future of AHEC. During the conference, I joined with Scholars, and we served the homeless community by handing out hygiene supplies, food, and water. Doing so impacted us, future healthcare providers, to listen to what people had to express regarding their healthcare." "My goal is to become a Medical Doctor, and I am immensely grateful for the opportunities the AHEC scholars program provides, such as clinical education, networking, and community outreach. Thank you, Ms. Melanee Mills, my AHEC coordinator, for allowing me to live out the AHEC Mission. Your mentorship and selfless acts motivate the scholars to work hard, believe in themselves, and walk purposefully."
