Today we bring you some news from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) 2024 Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule. CMS has finalized a new stand-alone G Code (G0136) to pay for administering an SDOH risk assessment, no more than once every 6 months:
G0136: Administration of a standardized, evidence-based SDOH assessment, 5-15 minutes, not more often than every 6 months.

NC Medicaid: Health Equity Payment Initiative Surveys Due by July 16, 2021

All Carolina Access Providers who received health equity payments are asked to take 5-10 minutes to complete this survey by July 16, 2021. The survey allows DHHS to monitor and evaluate how these payments were used.

On March 19, 2021 the North Carolina Division of Health Benefits posted a bulletin outlining their Health Equity Payment Initiative. To support the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) goals to achieve health equity, NC Medicaid is introducing an enhanced payment to Carolina Access primary care practices serving beneficiaries from areas of the state with high poverty rates.
