• Journals & E-Books: Thousands of full-text medical/nursing journals and core textbooks.
• Point-of-Care Tools: Includes synthesized clinical tools like Essential Evidence Plus for quick, evidence-based decision-making at the bedside.
• Subject Guides (LibGuides): Specialized resource hubs covering key health topics.
• Certification & Specialty Readings: Curated articles and reading lists—such as the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) recommended articles.

NC AHEC Digital Library to be Relaunched with Major Improvements on June 23, 2025

On June 23, 2025, a new and improved ADL will launch, introducing a simplified and more efficient search function, called a discovery service.

The new ADL’s discovery service will allow users to search in all our resources at once. This makes searches easier, faster and more efficient, and ensures all the relevant information will be presented in the search results.

After the change, most users will access the ADL through the MyAHEC portal. Make sure you have an active MyAHEC account by June 22, 2025. Go to www.ncahec.net/create-account to create an account.

The bird flu (H5N1) is becoming a greater concern among people who track infectious diseases.

Food insecurity for children is a serious issue that can have lifelong impacts on health.

In an effort to better address the significant shortage of health care workers, Northwest AHEC is partnering with the NC Center on the Workforce for Health (NC AHEC, Sheps Center, NC IOM), the NC Chamber Foundation to develop and implement a plan to create the next generation of healthcare clinicians and staff.

The Northwest AHEC Practice Support Team was awarded a grant from NC Medicaid supporting five different online self-paced learning activities.

Respiratory Syncytial Virus Infection (RSV) rates are increasing earlier and more quickly than usual in 2022, leading to higher risks for infants and young children, older adults, and adults with chronic conditions.

For over 30 years, the NC Area Health Education Center RN Refresher Program has helped thousands of nurses rejuvenate their careers and go back to work. Now more than ever, our state needs nurses. The program is offering a discount for the program through April 30th.
