Each April, we come together to celebrate National Public Health Week (NPHW) — a time to recognize the powerful role public health plays in our lives and to honor those working tirelessly to improve the health and well-being of our communities.
At Northwest Area Health Education Center (AHEC), we are proud to join in this celebration, uplifting the theme of this year’s NPHW: “Protecting, Connecting and Thriving: We Are All Public Health.”
From the air we breathe to the safety of our food and water, from mental health access to education equity — public health impacts every corner of our daily lives. This week reminds us that public health is everywhere, and we all have a role to play.
Our work at Northwest AHEC aligns closely with the mission of NPHW. We’re committed to:
- Providing continuing education and resources for health professionals.
- Promoting health careers to students across our region.
- Supporting programs and partnerships that address health disparities and social determinants of health.
We believe that health equity is essential — and achievable. When we invest in education, prevention, and access, we create healthier futures for everyone.
