Wake Forest School of Medicine and Northwest Area Health Education Center (NWAHEC) is gearing up for another fun and informative virtual Camp Med this summer. Last year’s camp hosted more than 900 participants from North Carolina and beyond. This year the self-paced camp will once again be available to students in grades eight through 12 from June 1 through July 31.

CampMedSocialAd-Option4-resizedThe Camp Med 2021 Virtual Summer Program provides 20+ hours of on-line content designed to give students a fun and rewarding experience while gaining the knowledge and skills to help them make informed decisions about future careers in health. We are expanding our camp this summer to include a series of live webinars titled “Meet the Health Professionals.” Students can network with and ask questions of professionals in the health care workforce.

“We are excited about this unique opportunity to open the program to even more students.” said Michael P. Lischke, Director of Northwest Area Health Education Center. “We strive to ensure that every student in our region, -- in grades 8-12, post-secondary or professional schools, -- is aware of and excited to learn about the broad range of health careers that are viable and attainable career options.”

NWAHEC’s Camp Med Program is a great way for high school students to discover the world of health career possibilities. Now more than ever the need for talented healthcare professionals is a necessity. Students will be exposed to the stimulating world of working in healthcare, reflect on social determinants of health, and even get a virtual tour of a human heart! There is even a chance to win a gift card through the Camp Med video contest at the conclusion of the program.

The program is FREE to register today visit nwahec.org/CAMPMED!!
