Northwest AHEC hosted the 41st Annual Gravidas at Risk Conference on November 15-16, 2023 at the Hickory Metro Convention Center in Hickory, North Carolina. A diverse group of 150 healthcare professionals, including nurses, educators, providers, and care managers, from all corners of the state, came together to participate in the enriching two-day conference.
The conference was invigorated by the presence of numerous nursing students who have a strong passion for perinatal nursing. As attendees immersed themselves in the enlightening presentations, they not only gained a wealth of knowledge but also relished the opportunity to forge new connections with fellow professionals and reunite with familiar faces.
The speakers provided engaging presentations on topics relative to high risk pregnancy such as nutritional needs during pregnancy, management of hypertension, alcohol and substance exposed pregnancies, post-partum depression, and prenatal care for IVF pregnancies. The presenters at the conference showcased their expertise and passion, leaving no doubt as to their knowledge and dedication.
We look forward to the 42nd Annual Gravidas at Risk Conference on November 20-21, 2024 in Hickory, North Carolina.
