This is a friendly reminder that there are only four months left to apply for a final payment of up to $8500 from the [NC Medicaid EHR Incentive Program \[medicaid.ncdhhs.gov\]](https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/medicaid.ncdhhs.gov/medicaid-ehr-incentive__;!!GA8Xfdg!gmHjfw6w-NWo7psnPHt1VZ045HIRd-lYKB8_hr33MHvu6dk0HugIQdCBYeYO4HVsCA$).  

  

Providers who have not attested for all six years should attest for Program Year 2021 as soon as possible. If your signed attestation is received by Aug. 31, 2021, it will be reviewed, and if needed, outreach will be conducted before [NC-MIPS \[ncmips.nctracks.nc.gov\]](https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/ncmips.nctracks.nc.gov/Home.aspx__;!!GA8Xfdg!gmHjfw6w-NWo7psnPHt1VZ045HIRd-lYKB8_hr33MHvu6dk0HugIQdCBYebPV_ahvg$) closes on Oct. 31, 2021.  

   

**No attestations will be accepted after Oct. 31, 2021. There will be no exceptions to this CMS deadline.** 

 

In Program Year 2021, providers must use a 90-day MU and CQM reporting period. This means providers must start collecting 2021 [Stage 3 MU \[cms.gov\]](https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/www.cms.gov/files/document/medicaid-ep-2020-table-contents.pdf__;!!GA8Xfdg!gmHjfw6w-NWo7psnPHt1VZ045HIRd-lYKB8_hr33MHvu6dk0HugIQdCBYeYiRwvYqg$) and [CQM \[ecqi.healthit.gov\]](https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/ecqi.healthit.gov/ep-ec?qt-tabs_ep=0&globalyearfilter=2021__;!!GA8Xfdg!gmHjfw6w-NWo7psnPHt1VZ045HIRd-lYKB8_hr33MHvu6dk0HugIQdCBYeZg6d4qlg$) data in their [certified EHR \[chpl.healthit.gov\]](https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/chpl.healthit.gov/*/search__;Iw!!GA8Xfdg!gmHjfw6w-NWo7psnPHt1VZ045HIRd-lYKB8_hr33MHvu6dk0HugIQdCBYeZh6btOoQ$) no later than Aug. 1, 2021.  

  

Because [NC-MIPS \[ncmips.nctracks.nc.gov\]](https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/ncmips.nctracks.nc.gov/Home.aspx__;!!GA8Xfdg!gmHjfw6w-NWo7psnPHt1VZ045HIRd-lYKB8_hr33MHvu6dk0HugIQdCBYebPV_ahvg$) must close by Oct. 31, 2021, NC-MIPS has been updated to allow providers to submit a Program Year 2021 attestation before having completed the [Security Risk Assessment \[healthit.gov\]](https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/www.healthit.gov/topic/privacy-security-and-hipaa/security-risk-assessment-tool__;!!GA8Xfdg!gmHjfw6w-NWo7psnPHt1VZ045HIRd-lYKB8_hr33MHvu6dk0HugIQdCBYeZjRm9kUg$) (SRA). Providers that submit in NC-MIPS before completing their SRA must attest that they will complete the SRA prior to Dec. 31, 2021. If selected for post-payment audit, providers will be responsible for submitting the 2021 SRA regardless of whether it was completed by, or after, the date of attestation in NC-MIPS.
