Those with Family Planning Medicaid may be eligible for full coverage Medicaid

Oct 31, 2023 8:59:38 AM / by Practice Support Team

People who have limited benefits through Family Planning Medicaid and meet the new eligibility rules will automatically receive full Medicaid coverage as of December 1, 2023.

Happy mother with newborn babyHow will those with Family Planning know if they get full coverage?

  • They will receive a letter from NCDHHS
  • They will then be assigned a health plan
  • They will receive a packet in the mail from that health plan

IMPORTANT:

Not everyone with limited Family Planning Program benefits will be automatically enrolled in full coverage through NC Medicaid. Eligibility criteria must be met.  Some may have income that exceeds Medicaid eligibility levels. All are encouraged to make sure their information is correct, either by contacting their local DSS office or going to epass.nc.gov.

You can find full details about this program on the flyer from NCDHHS (in both English and Spanish).

Spread the word to your patients!
