The latest issue of the North Carolina Medical Journal provides an update on innovations and infrastructure changes across our state since they last covered team based care in 2018. Authors highlight policies and programs addressing health equity, population-based care, reducing costs and increasing quality.

According to guest editors Dr. Jill Forcina (Director of Education and Nursing for NC AHEC) and Dr. Meg Zomorodi (Associate Provost for Interprofessional Health Initiatives and Director of the Office of Interprofessional Education and Practice at UNC-Chapel Hill),

"What remains clear is that team-based care is a critical ingredient in the success of efforts to address health and workforce needs."
