Check your audio | Desktop app (recommended) | Browser | Mobile | Your role | Telephone audio
I cannot hear the webinar
- Verify that there is audio playing from the host. If you are connected early you may hear an audio check from the host every few minutes.
- Confirm you joined an audio connection, not just the webinar screen. Choose computer or internet audio, or use telephone dial-in.
- Check your device volume and the selected speaker or headset. Reconnect your headset and check Bluetooth output.
- Test the speaker in Webex audio settings. Select another output device if the test is silent.
- If computer audio still fails, use the telephone details in your invitation or Webex audio menu.

Desktop Webex app (recommended)
For Northwest AHEC webinars, we recommend joining through the desktop Webex app. Before joining, open Audio options, choose computer audio, and select your speaker and microphone. Use Test to check both devices. During the session, open audio settings to change devices or switch your audio connection.

Joining through a desktop browser
Check audio in the pre-join preview. Allow microphone access when your browser asks if you need to speak. If access was blocked, review the browser permissions for the Webex site. Check the selected speaker and microphone. After connecting a new device, restart the browser if Webex does not detect it. If audio remains unavailable, try the Webex app or telephone dial-in.

Joining from a phone or tablet
Webex mobile app
Check device volume and whether sound is playing through your phone, speaker, or Bluetooth headset. In the Webex Meetings mobile app, open More, then Change audio connection to choose internet audio or telephone audio. Allow Webex microphone access in your device settings if you need to speak.
Mobile browser
Joining options depend on the device, browser, and webinar configuration. Follow the invitation prompts. If browser audio is unavailable or unreliable, open the invitation in the Webex mobile app or use telephone dial-in. Allow browser microphone access if prompted and you need to speak.
Check your participant role
- Webinar attendee: You join muted. The host controls permission to speak, so a disabled microphone may be expected. Use chat or Q&A when available to ask for help.
- Panelist: Join with your panelist invitation, check the selected microphone, and confirm you are unmuted. Ask the host to check your role if you joined as an attendee.
- Meeting participant: Check your mute status and microphone permission. If the host has restricted unmuting, ask the host to allow you to speak.

Use telephone audio
Telephone dial-in is enabled for our sessions. Use the number, access code or meeting number, and any telephone password in your invitation or Webex audio menu. Enter your attendee ID when prompted to connect phone audio to your on-screen name. If you hear an echo, disconnect computer audio while keeping the webinar screen open.
Use the details for your specific session. Panelists should use their panelist invitation.
