
The Integrated Care Quality Series is a four-part learning experience designed to support providers, care teams, and partners in improving maternal and child health outcomes across North Carolina. Aligned with NC Medicaid priorities and the 2026 Withhold Program, this series explores key clinical quality measures, documentation practices, and strategies for advancing equitable, whole-person care. Each session offers practical guidance, data-driven insights, and actionable approaches to strengthen care delivery—from prenatal and postpartum services to preventive screenings, social needs assessments, and pediatric well-care and immunizations.
All programs in the series are being held via Live Webinar.
These programs are for NC Health Department employees only.
There is no charge for these online courses. Course registration is generously supported by the North Carolina Alliance of Public Health Agencies.

Session 1: Prenatal & Postpartum Care (PPC) Wednesday, May 27, 2026 Prenatal and postpartum care is foundational to maternal and infant health outcomes. The Withhold Program emphasizes timely prenatal care initiation and postpartum visits within 7–84 days after delivery. This session reviews updated specifications, data collection requirements, F‑code documentation, and culturally responsive engagement strategies for supporting pregnant and postpartum members. Session 2: Screening for Health‑Related Resource Needs (HRRN) Date TBD in the Fall Beginning in 2026, HRRN transitions from pay‑for‑reporting to pay‑for‑performance, reinforcing NC Medicaid’s commitment to addressing social drivers of health. This session examines required screening components, best practices for documentation, and effective approaches for follow‑up and linkage to community‑based resources. Session 3: Women's Preventive Health – CCS & BCS Date TBD in the Fall Cervical and breast cancer screening rates remain below national Medicaid benchmarks, and NC Medicaid identifies these as areas of significant opportunity. This session reviews current guidelines, ECDS reporting considerations, and strategies to reduce missed opportunities in public health and primary care settings. Session 4: Child & Adolescent Well‑Care & Immunizations (WCV & IMA Combo 2) Date TBD in the Fall Preventive care for children and adolescents—including well‑care visits and immunizations—plays a central role in the 2026 Withhold Program. This session provides operational strategies to support timely visits, anticipatory guidance, outreach to families, reminder/recall systems, and vaccine confidence building.
