The commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) is another term for what we often call child sex trafficking. Cases of human trafficking have been reported in all 50 U.S. States; anyone can be trafficked regardless of race, class, education, gender, age, or citizenship when forcefully coerced or enticed by false promises. While anyone can be a victim, according to THORN, we know that kids who are homeless or runaways, LGBTQ, African American or Latino, and youth interacting with the child welfare system are more vulnerable to this type of exploitation. This 90-minute, knowledge-based webinar will describe CSEC stats according to the FBI and provide recommendations for healthcare professionals and community members to report concerns.
