Healthcare professionals, public health leaders, community advocates, policymakers, and changemakers are invited to register for the 4th Annual Black Maternal & Infant Health Conference, taking place October 7, 2026, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This year's theme, "Sacred Bodies, Broken Systems: Reimagining Black Maternal and Infant Health," will explore the structural and systemic factors that contribute to disparities in maternal and infant health outcomes while highlighting innovative solutions and pathways toward health equity.

Hosted in partnership with the Black Pearls Society and Northwest AHEC, the conference will bring together experts and community voices for a day of learning, dialogue, and action focused on improving outcomes for Black mothers, infants, families, and communities. 

Featured Keynote Speaker: Michelle Browder

One of the highlights of this year's conference is keynote speaker Michelle Browder, creator, artist, entrepreneur, and visionary behind the nationally recognized Mothers of Gynecology Monument.

Browder is known for using art, history, and storytelling to uncover overlooked narratives in women's and maternal health. Through projects such as the Mothers of Gynecology Monument Park and educational initiatives that reach thousands, she challenges audiences to examine the historical roots of healthcare inequities and imagine a more equitable future.

Her keynote presentation will set the stage for meaningful conversations about history, health equity, and the collective work needed to transform systems of care.

Conference planners have finalized an exciting lineup of plenary presentations, and breakout sessions are currently being selected from proposals submitted through the conference call for presentations. Additional details about breakout offerings will be announced as they become available.

Registration Is Open

Participants may attend in person or register for a virtual plenary-only option. Virtual attendees will have access to the opening keynote presentation, afternoon panel discussion, and closing session. Breakout sessions will be available exclusively for in-person participants.
