With FDA authorization, the CDC recommended that children 5 to 11 get a lower dose Pfizer vaccine. Clinical trials found the vaccine is safe and effective. There were no safety concerns or serious side effects noted in the clinical trials.
Parents should get their children vaccinated to protect them from serious illness and help keep them healthy.
Children are vulnerable to the COVID-19 virus just like everyone else. Cases of COVID-19 among children in the U.S. rose approximately 240% during the most recent surge, demonstrating a need to protect children from the disease. The vaccine provides a safe, tested way to help keep them healthy and get kids back to safely being with their family and friends—especially during the upcoming holidays.
