Character in Medicine Webinar March 20th

Recent events have revealed the importance of character in leadership as well as the widespread lack of trust in our institutions. The professions have a special opportunity and obligation to promote personal integrity and to advance social trust. Join us for this webinar on March 20th!

Margaret Plews-Ogan, Chief of General Medicine, Geriatrics, and Palliative Care at UVA School of Medicine, will give a keynote entitled “Wisdom out of Adversity: Fostering Wisdom in the Wake of Critical Events and Circumstances,” drawing on her research in physicians’ response to their medical errors. A panel discussion among Patrice Harris, outgoing President of the American Medical Association, Farr Curlin, Professor of Medical Humanities, Duke University School of Medicine and School of Divinity, Adina Kalet, Director, Kern Institute for the Transformation of Medical Education at the Medical College of Wisconsin will follow Dr. Plews-Ogan’s presentation.
