44th Annual Minority Health Conference - Practicing Health as a Human Right

Northwest AHEC's own Melanee Mills, Program Coordinator for Health Careers and Workforce Diversity, was able to go and experience the Minority Health Conference on February 24th along with a few other AHEC colleagues. Thanks to UNC Chapel Hill – Gillings School of Global Public Health for putting on this important event!

The Minority Health Conference is the largest and longest-running student-led health conference in the country. The conference aims to raise awareness around health disparities and mobilize students, academics, and community members to take action for change. Started in 1977 by the Minority Student Caucus, the conference is nationally recognized and respected, attracting more than 500 attendees each year and hundreds more who view it via webcast.

“Practicing Health as a Human Right: Policy, Ethics and the Law,” the 44th Annual Minority Health Conference was held on February 24th presented by the Minority Student Caucus at UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. Attendees enjoyed hearing and engaging in important discussions about global public health.
